About Assam CEE

Combined Entrance Examination conducted by The Directorate of Technical Education, Assam Govt. for admission into the MBBS course in any of the following 5 medical colleges of Assam and BDS course in the Regional Dental College, Guwahati.

 

(i)  Assam Medical College, Dibrugarh

(ii) Gauhati Medical College, Guwahati

(iii) Silchar Medical College, Silchar

(iv) Jorhat Medical College, Jorhat

(v) Fakhruddin Ali Ahmed Medical College, Barpeta

Eligibility in qualifying examination (10+2) level:

 

Eligibility in (10+2) qualifying examination for General category:

The candidates must pass (10+2), the qualifying examination without any grace marks in the subjects of Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English individually in the same sitting and must have obtained a minimum of 60% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry and Biology at the qualifying exam  in case of candidates belonging to the general category.

 

Eligibility in (10+2) qualifying examination for SC/ST/OBC/MOBC:

In respect of candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC/MOBC, the marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together in the qualifying examination shall be 50% marks.

Eligibility in Combined Entrance Examination

 

Eligibility in CEE for General category:

The candidate belonging to General Category has to secure at least 50% Marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together in CEE.

 

Eligibility in CEE for for SC/ST/OBC/MOBC:

The candidate belonging to SC,ST, OBC, MOBC category have to obtain at least40% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Biology taken together in CEE.

Age Limit:

For General Category: Candidate’s age should not be below 17 years and above 24 years of age on the 31st day of December of the year in which the admission is sought for.

 

For SC, ST, OBC, MOBC Category:  Maximum age limit is relax able by 3 years

Exemption from Combined Entrance Examination:

 The following categories of candidates are exempted from appearing in the entrance test:

 

(a)      Candidates nominated against 15% All India Quota seats/Central pool/ N.E. States quota and candidates nominated by Govt. of Bhutan.

 

(b)      Candidates ranked within the 1st 10 positions in the HSSLC (Sci.) examination conducted by the Assam Higher Secondary Education Council, provided they get not less than 60% marks in aggregate. Such candidates must apply for direct admission to the Director of Medical Education, Assam. But they shall have to appear before the Selection Board for counseling.

 

Total number of seats:

Total number of seats in the MBBS - 626 (State Quota Seat - 503)

Total number of seats in the BDS -   40     (State Quota Seat - 16) 

Reservation of seats:

Available seats shall be reserved for the following categories of candidates of the State of Assam:

 (a) Scheduled Castes

 7%  of total available seats in MBBS/BDS Courses each

(b) Scheduled Tribes (Plain)

 

10%   -- do –

(c) Scheduled Tribes (Hills)

 

5%     -- do –

(d) OBC/MOBC

 

15%   -- do –

(e) Sons/daughters/brothers/ sisters/grandsons /grand- daughters of freedom-fighters of the State.

2 seats in MBBS

(f) Sons/daughters/brothers/ sisters of the martyrs of the  Assam movement

2 seats in MBBS &

1 seat in BDS

(g) Children of tea-garden/ Ex-tea garden communities/Tribes.(TGL/Ex-TGL Quota) from 15% OBC/MOBC Quota Seats.

(h) Sons/daughters/brothers/ sisters of persons killed in extremist violence in Assam.
