Exam Pattern of Bank Exam: PO/MT/RRB/RBI Officer

                                                                About Banks
It is expected that the Banking Industry would be recruiting lakhs of candidates in the upcoming years. The Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS) conducts a series of CWEs as a pre-requisite for the selection of personnel for the posts of Clerks / Probationary Officer / Management Trainee in 20 Public Sector Banks and 82 Regional Rural.

Private banks to consider IBPS scores: Some of the old private banks have also decided to use the IBPS CWE scores to recruit candidates for Officers and Clerks posts in their banks. These banks will now start considering the IBPS CWE scores to fill the PO / Clerks vacancies in their banks. Apart from these private banks, financial institutes like ECGC are also recruiting on the basis of IBPS scores.

 Participating Banks: Except for SBI, almost all the major Public Sector Banks are participating in the CWE. The 20 banks which are participating in the CWE are Allahabad Bank, Andhra Bank, Bank of Baroda, Bank of India, Bank of Maharashtra, Canara Bank, Central Bank of India, Corporation Bank, Dena Bank, IDBI bank, Indian Bank, Indian Overseas Bank, Oriental Bank of Commerce, Punjab National Bank, Punjab & Sind Bank, Syndicate Bank, Union Bank of India, United Bank of India, UCO Bank and Vijaya Bank.

IBPS CWE (Officers) for RRBs

 Officer Scale I - 18-28 yrs.

  Degree in any discipline for General Banking Officers (50% for      Scale II &III) & Degree / PG in a relevant subject for Specialist  Officers as given in the notification. Experience also required for    some posts

The above tests, except the Test of English Language will be available bilingually, i.e. English and Hindi.

 There is no Descriptive Writing Test for IBPS CWE for PO/MT

(1) Negative Marking - 1/4th or 0.25 marks assigned to the question will be deducted.

(2) Cutoff Score: Each candidate will have to secure a minimum standard score in each of the tests as well as on the Total Weighted Standard Score to be called for interview

(3) Interview: Shortlisted candidates will subsequently be called for an Interview to be conducted by the Participating Organisations (coordinated by IBPS). Interviews will be conducted at select centers.

(4) Interview Marks: The total marks allotted for Interview are 100. The minimum qualifying marks in interview is 40% (35% for SC/ST/OBC/PWD candidates).The weight age (ratio) of marks of CWE and interview will be 80:20.

(5) Final Selection: The combined final scores of candidates shall be arrived at on the basis of scores obtained by the candidates in CWE and Interview. A candidate should qualify both in the CWE and interview to be shortlisted for subsequent allotment process.

                     Exam Pattern of SBI / SBI Associate Banks Exams:(Online Exam)
The SBI and Associate Banks of SBI conduct separate written test for the selection process of PO and do not consider the IBPS score.
The written test for recruitment of PO in SBI / SBI Associate Banks consists of online Objective Paper and Descriptive Paper (Pen-paper mode)

(a) Descriptive Paper: The online Objective Test is followed by a Descriptive Test (pen-paper mode. The Descriptive paper comprises of Essay, Precis, Letter Writing, Comprehension, Paragraph Writing etc. The duration is of 60 minutes and the maximum marks are 50.

The candidates are required to qualify in the Descriptive Test by securing passing marks, to be decided by the Bank.
Descriptive Test paper of only those candidates will be evaluated who have scored qualifying marks in the Objective Tests and are Placed adequately high as per total marks in objective test.
(b) Negative Marking: There will be penalty for wrong answers marked in the Objective Test.
(c) Final Selection: This will be made based on the performance in the written test, Group Discussion and Interview taken together. The weight age (ratio) of marks of written test and interview will be 75:25.

Selection will be through Examinations and Interview. Examinations will be held in two phases [Phase-I ON-LINE Examination (Objective Type) and Phase-II Written Examination (Descriptive type)]

Cut off marks: Candidates have to secure minimum marks separately for each test as well as aggregate.

Candidates, who secure minimum marks separately for each Test will be shortlisted for Phase-II of the Examination based on the aggregate marks obtained in the Objective Test.
